    Green Yoga Teacher Leadership Program
    Educating the Environmental Yoga Teachers of Tomorrow
    May 15-22

    Immerse yourself in the philosophy, tradition and practice of Green Yoga. You will return to your community ready to guide people to ecological awareness and activism through Yoga. (Includes Main Conference and Green Studios Day) Click here for a detailed schedule.

    Overview:

    The Yoga and Ecology Leadership Program will support Yoga teachers in integrating Green Yoga principles more deeply into their lives and Yoga teaching, and in becoming leaders for ecological transformation in their communities.

    The program will consist of a 60-hour retreat held from May 15- 22, 2007 at Mount Madonna Center, located in the redwood and oak forest of Monterrey County, Northern California. Program topics include:

    · Study of the ecological aspects of the Yoga tradition, drawing from the Vedas, Samkhya Karika, Abhidharmakosha, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutra, Yoga Vashishta, and more.
    · Guided experiencing of Green Yoga practice, both indoors and out.
    · Teaching methodology for fostering ecological awareness.
    · Transformative leadership, group facilitation, and creativity
    · Green Studios Leadership

    Participants must have completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance registered teacher-training program before the start of the program. A five-month optional practicum, home study, and service-learning component after the retreat will lead to certification as a Green Yoga teacher.

    Pre-requisites for acceptance into the program:
    I. Completion of a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified Yoga Teacher Training Program, in any style of Yoga.
    II. Completed program application.
